What is the best Agarwood/Oud on the market?

The best Agarwood/Oud comes from the best Agarwood/Oud Aquilaria Tree. Many species are available in the S.E Asian regrion, most commonly Aquilaria Filaria, Aquilaria Crassna, Aquilaria Aetoxylon, Aquilaria Malaccensis but the price of Vietnam's Aquilaria Crassna (Hui An, Hoi An) is the highest and most rare.

The best Agarwood/Oud wood is highly resinated (in extremely rare cases 'sinking' grade) wild agarwood. As Agarwood/Oud is going into extinction, now it is even harder to find sinking quality, especially if it is made into oil, it is hard to distinguish. The active content in the oil can only be experienced by the experienced user or check by laboratory test.

In general, the more oil / resinous areas, the more valuable the Agarwood/Oud will be, and in some cases when oil/resin content is so high that it becomes a sinking Agarwood/Oud. One exception is that in some Agarwood/Oud species like Aquilaria Malaccensis, this Agarwood/Oud itself has a black body which can be mistaken as sinking Agarwood/Oud for unexperienced or new users.

How do I know my Agarwood/Oud is authentic or fake?

An authentication of Agarwood/Oud is required by an expert/professional. Some Agarwood/Oud are from imitation species such as Excoecaria Agollocha also known as fish poison has a milky sap which is poisonous. Although it belongs to the same botancial class as agarwood/oud producing trees but it is under a different classification.

3 Basic Methods for verifying Agarwood/Oud chips:

See: There are various oil lines or regions of black which are actually resinous areas or area of resins located on the wood Agarwood/Oud chip. The patterns should not be consistent as it is form 100% natural.

Smell: Agarwood/Oud has powerful yet subtle and relaxing aroma. A synthetically manufactured Agarwood/Oud chip or diluted Agarwood/Oud oil possesses a blunt, dull, uncomplicated, and leathery aroma, while a genuine Agarwood/Oud oil emanates a woody, rich, and potent fragrance that is not gender specific.

Burnt: This is the most accurate way is to burn the Agarwood/Oud chip. The smell should not contain chemical scent or any irritating smoke to the nose. It should relax the nerves system through the air channel in our body after inhaling the smoke or scent from the oil.

What is cultivated Agarwood/Oud? Is it same as natural Agarwood/Oud?

One of the solutions to curb increasing demand and decreasing supply is to cultivate agarwood. Many agarwood producing countries are going into agarwood cultivation. But due to the deliberate human inducing method on the Aquilaria Trees and short time to harvest. The quality of the cultivated agarwood are inferior to those of natural wild agarwood. In terms of colour, the body looks white with black/brown resin in the centre. The oil from cultivated agarwood are light brown and transparent compared to black opaque colour i.e. Aquilaria Crassna agarwood oil


Agarwood/Oud will cause allergic reactions?

Often then not, allergic reactions that are caused by fragrances and perfumes synthetically manufactured with chemicals in them. Agarwood/Oud is a 100% pure and natural substance/resinous oil, allergic reaction to Agarwood/Oud should not take place, even in our historical data from customers. However if you are prone to allergies, please consult your doctor before wearing Agarwood/Oud. We do not take responsibility for any allergies that may result from wearing our Agarwood/Ouds.

How long will 1 bottle of 3 ml Agarwood/Oud oil last?

Each use of our Agarwood/Oud is approximately 0.01gram. Based on this estimations, if Agarwood/Oud oil is used every a 3 ml Agarwood/Oud bottle should last you an entire year.
