Agarwood- Benefits of Wood

A fragrant, resinous and greatly valuable Heartwood generated by various species of Aquilaria. Agarwood is the resinous wood that reflects its different and widespread use more than thousand of years. Frequently it becomes infected with the phialophora parasitic, mould and parasite fungus and start to create the aromatic resin because of this attack. This resin of the tree from the immune response and the natural attack of fungal is generally familiar as Agarwood. The decomposition and fungus process carry on to produce the pretty dark and rich resin producing with the Heartwood. Due to this reason, this tree grows gradually over time generally 30 to 60 years. It also provides the world most sacred and valuable oil known as Agarwood Oil.

A poorer resin is produced by the cultivated/plantation aquilaria tree wounding, and leaving the more fungal attack on it by using the artificial method. It is usually found in the commercial trees and known as Agarwood.
